Right here in Stamford CT, in the water, lies a 1985 O’Day 31 sloop with Universal M-18 Diesel auxiliary power in nice condition and ready to sail away.

The O’Day 31 is a slightly stretched version of the ever popular O’Day 30. The O’Day 31 is a comfortable pocket cruiser with great sailing abilities. Deck layout is simple, well suited for single or double handed sailing, wheel helm, control lines leading to the cockpit, roller furling, lazy jacks; she is set up just the way you would like. This O’Day 31 has the main sail traveler mounted on the cabin top leaving room for a dodger and clearing the cockpit and companionway.

Easily sailed, reliable diesel power, comfortable accommodations for 6, the O’day 31 is a fun family cruiser ideal for the near shore cruising community, perfect for Long Island Sound, Buzzards Bay, or any of the coastal cruising grounds. The cockpit has the helm aft and a dodger over the companionway, a dodger extension provides shade or protection for the entire cockpit.

Below decks is a cozy two cabin arrangement with an additional pilot berth to starboard. The clever three sided dinette area converts to a double berth opposite a single berth to port. The galley is to port with refrigerator on the starboard side. Between the forepeak and the main salon resides the full width head with a manual head and a pressure hot/cold water shower. The forepeak is a traditional vee berth with nice built in storage lockers and drawers.

The headsail and mainsail are Mylar and in great shape. She also has a gennaker  for those rare days when there is barely a breath; and a spinnaker for the more enthusiastic cruiser.

She lies fully commissioned in Stamford, a good fit for a new sailing family, these O’Day 31’s are highly desirable as able inshore cruisers. This boat is in great shape with many upgrades over the typical cruisers.
